‘There you are!’ Fahrer shouted and pounced on me in a tackle. I fell to the ground again, with my face, this time, in broken melon. I licked my lips enjoying the strawberry flavour. Mmm! Tastes good and I’m enjoying Fahrer’s arms around my waist too.
‘Ugh! Yuk!’ Fahrer sprang back.

‘What? Was Fahrer Fox again?’ Liesel spat cheesy globs all over me. ‘What, exactly did you do, with Fox?’ She looked at me.
I glanced down in shame. ‘Sorry, it just sort of…happened.’
Her limbs jerked like pigeons startled by the proverbial cat. ‘You are familiar with ISF principles and procedures.’ She paced the tight kitchen space. ‘Oh, shoot! Now what are we going to do?’

Forced to Simplify

In the light of the half moon, fire, and gas-lamp, Dad prepared a meal of pea and ham soup, damper, and chocolate pudding with custard for dessert. As we licked our plates clean, Dad motioned to my brother (MB). ‘How much money have you got?’
MB stopped mid-way through a swipe of plate, tongue sticking out. He shook his head, and shrugged. ‘Nothing,’ he lisped.
